Raheem Sterling is one of those young players who is making waves in the world of football but despite all of the interest and offers that he has been receiving from top clubs Brendan Rodgers has announced that the English player is not up for sale and will remain at Anfield at the end of the season as he is not going to leave in the upcoming summer transfer window despite all of the rumors stating otherwise.
“I’m quite relaxed about it. It’s part of the modern game. He has got two and a half years left on his contract and is going nowhere this summer,” Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers told reporters during a press conference as the manager took the chance to talk about the current situation of his most sought-after player.
The 20 year old player was offered a new deal where he will be earning €100,000 each week as Brendan Rodgers is attempting to keep the player tied in the team and avoid having to deal with other offers from different clubs.
Sterling currently has a contract with Liverpool that allows him to earn €35,000 per week and it runs for 2 more years but even with this huge raise in wages, the young player has stated that he isn’t so motivated by money as his main driving force is in winning trophies.
“Money is not everything in my life. I’ve got family, a daughter these people mean everything to me.It is about winning trophies throughout your career; I don’t talk about how many cars I will drive or how many houses I’ve got.’’ Sterling told the media.
Raheem Sterling wants to avoid talking about contract extensions and things of that nature until the end of the season as the Englishman just wants to focus in performing for his club and when the time arrives then Sterling will start discussing about extending his contract or making a move to another club.
