MANCHESTER UNITED’S TRIPPIER CHASE TAKES NEW TWIST

English Premier League giants Manchester United have shown that they are very much interested in signing Atlético Madrid defender Kieran Trippier in this summer’s transfer window. The Red Devils are in the market for a new right-back who will serve as a major challenger for the position with Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Wan-Bissaka is currently the club’s best option for the right-back role and Olé Gunnar Solksjær believes that in order for the team to continue their quest in challenging the league’s top teams, they have to bolster the squad.

The Norwegian manager is interested in having serious competition for places in his squad and has made it clear that he wants to have at least two very good players for one position. Solksjær has admitted on several occasions that he usually has a selection headache whenever he wants to choose who will start in goal for the club between David De Gea and Dean Henderson. He says he loves that kind of competition as it is very healthy and proves that the squad is filled with quality.

However, there is the latest twist on the Red Devils’ chase of Trippier, with the England international defender set to stay at Atletico Madrid unless a serious offer comes in for him, according to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano. Romano revealed earlier in the week that United are one of the favorites to sign the former Tottenham defensive star but the Rojiblancos are not willing to let him go.

But according to the latest reports, United can land their target if they can cough up a significant sum of money to convince Atletico to sell. It is believed that a fee in the region of £35 million is enough to sign Trippier and it will be a huge profit on the player as Atletico signed him fr a relatively lesser amount.
