December 28 of 2014 was a memorable day for the Premier League as all the major clubs in the league sustained a draw.
Manchester City settled with a 2-2 draw against Burnley, Chelsea tied with Southampton while Manchester United sustained a goal-less draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
The draw that Manchester City experienced was especially difficult as they had taken the lead by 2 goals in the first half when facing off with Burnley but the team of Manuel Pellegrini was not able to hold on to their advantage and conceded 2 goals in the 2nd half. This result came a big surprise taking into consideration that Burnley is a club located in the bottom spots of the Premier League and still managed to rescue one point when facing off with the current champions of England, Manchester City.
Even with this unexpected result that Manchester City sustained, Manuel Pellegrini is certain that his team will still be able to catch up to the current leaders of the Premier League, Chelsea.
“Of course it’s a chance to have two points more but we finished the first round with 43 points, a good amount. Just because you play at home you shouldn’t be sure you are going to get the points. I think we have the entire second round to play and we will be the best team.” Manuel Pellegrini said.
Manchester City’s match against Burnley kicked off with David Silva and Fernandinho scoring goals in the first half as Manchester City had control of the match from the first few minutes of the game until the end but they failed on maximizing on all of their control and the time they had with the ball under their control and allowed Burnley to get back into the game as Burnley scored twice through the likes of George Boyd and Ashley Barnes.
