While they have been criticized for their inability to find buyers for players they are no longer in need of, English Premier League giants Manchester United have made it clear that they can still sell some of their unneeded players as long as the right offer comes in for them. The Red Devils have completed the sale of attacker Daniel James to their Premier League rivals Leeds United even though the negotiations between the two clubs started just a few hours before on Tuesday, the summer transfer window deadline day. James was already surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo would have seen his chances of playing in the team more restricted than normal.
Manchester United announced that they had agreed a deal in principle for the signing of Ronaldo from Juventus and it was indeed a huge piece of news, especially to United fans, as they have now had their hopes of seeing their club fighting for major titles go over the ceiling. James had always made headlines particularly because of his lack of playing time and there were reports that he could be allowed to leave the club and join another side on loan for the rest of the current campaign.
