Ryan Babel admits that he might have gone too far

Ryan Babel admits that he might have gone too far with his online posts.

The fans of Al Ain were absolutely furious with one of the posts of Babel on a social networking site.

They felt offended by that and they expressed their anger towards the Dutchman during one of the recent training sessions after which the club board had to summon the player and warn him.

Babel was signed by Al Ain earlier this year in July, but, he has been a rusty performer for the club so far.

Just a couple of goals have come off him in the 10 appearances that he has made. His form has been in question big time.

On top of that, the mannerism that he has shown at times, it has almost turned him into a villain at the club.

But, according to the 28-year old, he wants the supporters to give him one final chance to prove his worth and show that he’s a good buy for the club. Continue reading “Ryan Babel admits that he might have gone too far”

Giampaolo Pazzini has announced that he will be joining Hellas Verona

Former Fiorentina striker Giampaolo Pazzini has announced that he will be joining Hellas Verona on a free transfer.

The striker was recently released from AC Milan after his contract came to an end. Milan showed no interest in renewing his deal.Pazzini has been studying a variety of options over the last few months, but it is understood that the prospect of joining Verona has appealed him due to the first-team opportunities. Even though Hellas Verona already have a top striker in the form of Luca Toni,Pazzini believes that he will be a first choice regular at the club.

After being at Milan for the last three years,Pazzini made only 86 appearances in all competitions. His best time in football came at Fiorentina where he spent five years making 134 appearances. Regular first-team football appears to be the crucial aspect in helpingPazzini rediscover his form. Still just 31 years old, Verona will be hoping to get the best out of the striker for several years to come. SigningPazzini is also crucial for Verona given the Toni is coming to the end of his career. The 38-year-old still continues to be a force to reckon with in the Verona team. Blackburn Rovers recently extended the contract of two influential players

Blackburn Rovers recently extended the contract of two influential players –Liam Williamson andMatt Kilgallon – and managerGary Bowyer says that it is positive news for the club. Both players were out of contract at the end of the campaign, but the club now have extended their deals by one year. They will stay at Ewood Park until the summer of 2016. This is important news for Blackburn given that the experience provided by the duo will be key in a promotion challenge. During the 2014-15 season, Blackburn missed out on the play-off places only narrowly. They have been consistently making progress ever since the relegation from the top flight.

Just 11 points separated them from the final play-off spot andBowyer promises this gap to be narrowed next season when the club take advantage of any new signings. However, the manager will also have to contend with the loss of one of his key players. It is highly expected that striker Jordan Rhodes will be sold in the summer against the wishes of the manager and everyone at the club. This is due to persisting interest from Premier League clubs, who want to sign the 25-year-old. The Scotland striker has scored 21 goals in just 45 matches last season. Raheem Sterling making waves in the world of football

Raheem Sterling is one of those young players who is making waves in the world of football but despite all of the interest and offers that he has been receiving from top clubs Brendan Rodgers has announced that the English player is not up for sale and will remain at Anfield at the end of the season as he is not going to leave in the upcoming summer transfer window despite all of the rumors stating otherwise.

“I’m quite relaxed about it. It’s part of the modern game. He has got two and a half years left on his contract and is going nowhere this summer,” Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers told reporters during a press conference as the manager took the chance to talk about the current situation of his most sought-after player.

The 20 year old player was offered a new deal where he will be earning €100,000 each week as Brendan Rodgers is attempting to keep the player tied in the team and avoid having to deal with other offers from different clubs.

Sterling currently has a contract with Liverpool that allows him to earn €35,000 per week and it runs for 2 more years but even with this huge raise in wages, the young player has stated that he isn’t so motivated by money as his main driving force is in winning trophies. Arsenal recovering from the depressing Champions League

It seems the Arsenal players have woken up after getting a bit of flak from the manager.

They were right up to the mark taking on Everton the other evening at the Emirates Stadium.

A victory by the margin of 2-0 helped Arsenal recover from the depressing Champions League showdown versus Monaco as well as got them a position up in the table as well.

They are no. 3 now with a lead of 1 point over Manchester United.

The Gunners are not finding themselves that far behind from overtaking Manchester City either. One or two results here and there in their favour and they would trump the Sky Blues too. Continue reading “Arsenal recovering from the depressing Champions League”

Aitor Karanka praises Mourinho as Manager

Aitor Karanka, who is in charge of Middlesbrough, reckons that Jose Mourinho is better than any other manager in the professional circuit at this point of time.

Karanka also credits Mourinho for his own development as manager. He believes working with the Portuguese for a long period of time helped him a lot.

According to Karanka, Mourinho’s tenure in Spain with Real Madrid was just fabulous. He ended the dominance of Barca in the top division there by building a very organized squad at Santiago Bernabeu.

Karanka was Mourinho’s assistant at Real Madrid.

In an interview to a Radio channel, the 41-year old was quoted as saying, “Jose is such a pro active manager. I am yet to meet somebody who is a better tactician than him. The way he stopped Barca, it was incredible. They had been winning the title for 6 years and the kind of team they had, they would have extended that run easily, but, Jose did not let it happen. He built a side that not only challenged Barca, but, also became the champion.”

“People loved Jose there at Real Madrid. Everyone had a good relationship with him. You would have heard Iker Casillas saying the other day how much care Jose had for the players.”

When asked about Madrid’s current manager Carlo Ancelotti who has also made a dream start to his tenure at the club by winning the European Cup in his very first season, Karanka said, “Carlo is a fine coach as well and he is also well respected among the players. As far as the Champions League title is concerned, Madrid was always a strong contender for it. They have got great combinations in every department. They’re a class above the other sides.”
